The Arusha Society for the Protection of Animals (ASPA) was founded in 1997 and is a registered Society with Registration No: 01NGO/0009642 (under the Non- governmental organisations Act of Tanzania 2002).
Our Mission is to improve animal welfare by educate adults and children to respect animals, to care and provide good husbandry; rescue stray and badly treated animals; control animal over-populations; and prevent animals and public health hazards by carrying out regular rabies vaccination campaigns; and, buying land for the construction of an animal rescue facility and veterinary laboratory; create meaningful social change for animals by advocating for sensible public policies, and upholding the Animal Protection Ordinance (CAP 153)
