ABOUT Tanzania Veterinary Students Association (TVSA)

The Tanzania Veterinary Students Association (TVSA) is an association of veterinary students in Tanzania. The association is based at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FVM), Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) located in Morogoro, Tanzania. Tanzania Veterinary Student association is headed by the TVSA President who is assisted by the Vice President, Secretary General, Treasurer, Exchange Officer, Information Officer and Sports and Games Officer (link).  Membership to TVSA is open to all students pursuing the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM), from first year to fifth year as detailed in the TVSA constitution (link). The objectives of TVSA are to:

a.             facilitate cooperation among the veterinary students of Sokoine University of   Agriculture.

b.             facilitate cooperation between TVSA and any other Student’s Organization with similar aims.

c.             work for and ensure recognition and acceptance of University Veterinary Students in the building of equalitarian society and furtherance of common social, political and economic objectives of the people of Tanzania in a manner acceptable to the laws of the country and the rules and regulations governing the University community.

d.             promote research training extension and production in accordance with the prevailing laws of the country.

e.             develop leadership capabilities within the students community. 

f.              safeguard the rights of veterinary students in accordance with the laws and regulation.
